Access Wellness Centre is developing a growing edge in the specialism of EMDR in working psychotherapeutically with clients distressed with PTSD and other more complex disturbances and is currently fully integrated through his membership of EMDR UK and Ireland and EMDR Europe.

Larry O’Reilly is a Senior Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with specialist experience in somatic trauma therapy, complex addiction work at tier 1, 2 and 3 level and with extensive experience working with more vulnerable young people and adults in special care or custody.

Clinical supervision has emerged both internationally and in Ireland as a means of using reflective practice and shared experiences to support continuous professional development. To support and strengthen the quality of care and staff engagement with the goal of improving and maintaining safe, quality, effective and efficient care for services users

EMDR is recognised by the World Health Organisation (2013) as an effective therapy for children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events. It also has the highest recommendation for Children and Adolescents with PTSD from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS, 2018).

Larry has provided bespoke training and workshops in Motivational Interviewing to statutory, community and voluntary sectors, psychological groups and within the academic sector for students of Mental Health Nursing, Social Work and Dental Health.
